Behavior Education Specialist Duties and Responsibilities
Purpose of Classification:
Under
the direction of the Coordinator for Education, assists with the
behavior education program in the residence halls.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
The
incumbent works within the residence hall system to provide
education, adjudication, mediation, and referral services to
residence hall students. This is not part of a series.
Examples of Duties:
- Provides education, adjudication, mediation and referral
services to residence hall students.
- Serves as an initial referral point for residence hall
students involved in nonacademic disciplinary incidents.
- Investigates nonacademic disciplinary incidents in the
residence halls.
- Serves as a referral point for residence hall students
needing conflict resolution.
- Tracks students to ensure compliance with sanctions.
- Communicates with residence hall staff regarding behavior
education issues.
- Assists with programmatic efforts in behavior education.
- Assists with maintaining judicial/conflict management
database for residence halls.
- Assists with operational aspects of behavior education
program in the residence halls.
- Assists with related departmental initiatives and programs.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree OR, four years related experience; OR Any
equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which
comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
