Associate Budget Analyst Duties
SUMMARY
This is the first in a series of four exempt positions within
the University's Budget Office. The person occupying this
position must be able to assist with the preparation of budgets
within the University's Budget Office. Performs professional
level accounting work which can be distinguished from non-exempt
work in that it deals mainly with post-transaction reporting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Verify that budget, payroll, and accounting computer systems are
in balance.
Verify and process requests for access to budget system.
Assist and train non-exempt budget personnel and University
employees in budget policies and procedures as well as in the
use of mainframe computer systems.
Contact departments in case of questionable adjustments,
reviewing restricted account changes, and changing allotments as
necessary.
May balance University campaign reports.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business
Administration, or a related discipline; or any equivalent
combination of education, training, and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices as well
as statistical and analytical procedures.
Working knowledge of University practices and procedures.
Ability to make arithmetic calculations rapidly and accurately,
along with skill in using calculators and other such machines.
Ability to maintain working relationships and communicate
effectively.
