Instructional Resources Specialist Duties
SUMMARY
This is specialized work in the scheduling, distribution, and
maintenance of audiovisual materials and equipment.
The work involves specific responsibility for the circulation of
audiovisual materials and equipment in the Instructional
Resources Center's Library. The work involves scheduling student
assistants who act as audiovisual operators. Work is performed
with some degree of independence under the supervision of an
Instructional Resources Specialist II.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedules all types of audiovisual materials and equipment.
Coordinates daily requests to insure their completion.
Operates a computer terminal in scheduling all requests. Updates
computer on acquisitions.
Corresponds with and assists all media users.
Schedules audiovisual materials and equipment deliveries.
Assists with periodic inventory of materials and equipment.
Performs related work as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from a standard high school supplemented with
additional training at a vocational school or a two year college
program; or any equivalent combination of training and
experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Some knowledge of basic scheduling methods and procedures.
Some knowledge of the principles and methods of maintaining an
audiovisual library and record keeping system.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with library patrons, faculty members, and other
employees.
Ability to operate a computer terminal and any other basic
office equipment pertinent to scheduling audiovisual materials
and equipment.
Ability to operate audiovisual equipment.
Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with media users.
