Stage Manager Duties
SUMMARY
This is responsible work administering and coordinating the use
of a large auditorium.
Work involves coordinating the scheduling of events and the
utilization of a large auditorium in accordance with university
policy. Responsibilities include the coordination of custodial
tasks and the maintenance of facilities and equipment. Work is
performed under general supervision and is reviewed by
conferences and by observation of results obtained.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises the staging of events; implements operational
procedures.
Determines staging requirements; estimates costs; drafts
contracts.
Recruits, trains, and supervises technical assistants.
Coordinates the clean up of facilities and maintenance of
equipment.
Performs related work as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited college or university; or any
equivalent combination of training and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Some knowledge of the operations of a large auditorium.
Some knowledge of principles and practices of business
management.
Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of custodial and
technical assistants.
