Wuga News Director Duties
SUMMARY
News and Public Affairs Manager: Oversees all local news and
public affairs programming broadcast on WUGA. Develops,
produces, edits, and supervises the content of news stories,
interviews, features, forums, lectures, and special series and
programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Acquire and selects audio content for daily or weekly programs
from interviews, essays, lectures, and scripts; and voices
broadcast programs
Researches program ideas; and contacts and interviews potential
subjects and essay writers
Attends University and community events and writes scripts for
news stories that are heard all over the state on the Georgia
Public Radio network
Creates Federal Communications Commission quarterly report; and
other reports and taped materials
Represents WUGA at University and community functions
Trains and supervises news personnel
Participates in joint projects with academic units and other
special programs
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited college or university with major
course work in photography, supplemented by considerable six
years related experience; or any equivalent combination of
training and experience.
