Senior Graphics Designer Duties
SUMMARY
This position has responsibility for providing complex
projects which use visual solutions for the communications
needs of clients. It includes using a wide range of
deliverables as defined by clients from concept through
completion. This position may perform supervisory duties.
Incumbents in this classification work within established
deadlines inherent to graphic design industry.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs, edits, lays out, and produces all specific
publications;
Creates and implements ideas for new publications and data
products;
Designs the overall packaging of products;
Creates, implements, and designs marketing campaigns and
other advertising for department or unit.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree with major coursework in graphics design
or related field plus five years experience OR ten years
relevant experience either in-house or with an agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and skill of methods, techniques and practices of
graphic design and illustration;
Knowledge of print policies and procedures, and printing
processes such as typesetting, photo layout, pressroom and
bindery operations;
Ability to estimate labor and material costs;
Schedule specific phases to meet deadlines.
