Research Technician Duties
SUMMARY
This is the fourth in a series of eight titles for positions
involving the performance and management of duties in a research
setting. Positions assigned to the Research series have
increasingly more responsibility for research design and
modification, data analysis, interpretation, project management,
results summarization, and formal presentations.
The Research Technician III interprets results, adjusts
procedures if needed, assists with the technical design of
projects, and may supervise students and other technicians.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Interprets and analyzes results.
Organizes technical information for presentations.
May contribute to publications.
Duties may include laboratory/bench work as well as a
significant amount of time conducting software/computer work.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and no experience or equivalent combination
required.
Area-specific certification may be required and training will be
provided as appropriate (i.e. UGA HazMat training).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Applies an entry-level professional knowledge of procedures and
concepts.
