Retail Food Sales Manager Duties
SUMMARY
This is administrative and supervisory work in Campus Eateries.
An employee allocated to this class of work is responsible for
overseeing sales, merchandizing, production, customer
satisfaction, sanitation, inventories, delivery, quality control
and record keeping for satellite locations on campus. Work
requires the application of creativity and innovation in
developing ideas that will result in major improvements in
existing methods and services. Activities and decisions are
varied in nature, requiring the solving of both common and
unusual problems. This position's supervisor or other
appropriate position is consulted for clarification of policies
only where needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for full time and part time employees, student
workers, and supervisory employees.
Employee has responsibility for interviewing, hiring,
disciplining, and terminating.
Oversees production, sales, merchandizing, customer
satisfaction, sanitation, inventories, delivery, quality
control, and record keeping for retail satellite locations on
campus.
May serve as mentor and involved in the training of
ACUHO-I/NACUFS interns. Develops new market ideas and products
in conjunction with Assistant Director and Director of Food
Services.
Develops and coordinates special events for retail campus
eateries.
Responsible for accurate Food Pro and Winstar payroll computer
system records for all campus eateries.
Responsible for inventories and point of sale computer system
Ensures actual costs do not exceed budgeted cost.
Maintains cost categories, verifies operating reports, monitors,
and controls overtime.
Provides input into the proper expenditure of resources.
Responsible for offsite cash drawers and on-site change fund.
Oversees the handling of value add machines and card dispensing
machines located thru out campus.
Creates an environment where customers know management on a
first name basis.
Assist in establishing the food service department as one of the
premier Food Service Operations in the country.
Ensures compliance with safety/health regulations.
Schedules/assigns work.
Sets production goals and/or job expectations.
Trains and assesses performance.
Completes formal performance evaluations.
Coaches/counsels and/or directs/coordinates.
Performs related work as required.
Acts as replacement worker when needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited college or university, 2 years
work experience in retail food service environment required.
Driver's license required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read, and interpret information and reports
Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from faculty,
students, staff, and regulator agencies
Ability to develop ideas that will result in major improvements
in existing services.
Ability to operate standard office equipment, including credit
card machines, UGA card machine, cash register.
Ability to operate commercial equipment used in a kitchen.
Ability to care for and maintain equipment.
Ability to operate motor vehicles ( trucks and vans)
Ability to perform work requiring use of a computer; search for
data or information in computer files.
Ability to generate standard reports developed by others.
Ability to input or edit information, and/or enter data into
spreadsheets or programs developed by others.
Ensure/safeguard data integrity.
Ability to create graphics, multimedia, and/or desktop
publishing applications.
Ability to supervise regular employees and students.
