Event Planner Duties
SUMMARY
Provides meeting and event management services for training,
education, public affairs, and other areas. These events are
produced for local and stage government elected and appointed
officials, employees, general public, educators, etc.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Liaison with customer groups to manage and coordinate events
Maintain relationships with client organizations, providing
support and assistance for education and training
Confer with customers to assess their needs and help staff
develop training to meet specific needs
Develop and manage budgets often in excess of 100 thousand
dollars for implementation of conferences and training events
statewide
Implement, design, and aid in production of marketing and
promotional materials for conferences and training courses
Invoice clients and reconcile all costs relating to conferences
and training courses
Inspect all meeting spaces for proper set-up, AV equipment, and
food request
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of a four year college degree plus experience in
customer service, hospitality organization or other related
occupations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent customer service skills
Considerable knowledge of logistics involved with meetings and
events planning
Basic knowledge of AV equipment and food service styles
