Resume Frequently Asked Questions
1.
Should I include personal information on my resume?
Generally not, except your name and contact information. If
you'd like to include your personal interests, such as
traveling, you can just do it. It is illegal for the potential
employers to require your other personal information like
marital status, age, etc.
2. Can I create a two-page resume?
It is strongly recommended that you limit your resume in one
page. If not, try to use a smaller font, or an indent resume
format. If all fail, try to adjust the margin to get more space.
For experienced working professional with over ten years of
experience, you may extend your resume to no more than two
pages.
3. Do I need to include an objective?
Not necessarily. Resume objectives are helpful only if you
can not hand in in person. If you have your cover letter
included, then a resume objective is not needed.
4. Should my GPA be input in my resume?
If your GPA is some lower than 2.5, it is not wise to
include. Otherwise, you can do so.
5. Should I write a Skills section?
You can definitely do so if you have no substantial
experience or your past work is not well related to the skills
associated with the job you are seeking.
6. Do I need to put Reference List at the end of my
resume?
The answer is not. If you want, you may add "References
Available Upon Request"
