4-H Center Manager Duties
SUMMARY
This is highly responsible work in personnel and budgetary
management, maintenance, marketing and programming. The 4-H
Center Manager is responsible for supervision of staff and daily
operation of the the 4-H Center. The 4-H Center Manager works
under the direction and supervision of the Associate State 4-H
Leader. Individual in this position will assist 4-H faculty in
the planning and implementation of 4-H Environmental Education
and 4-H summer camping programs. Additionally, the manager will
market the 4-H Center services to potential USCB and assist in
designing and implementing 4-H and environmental related
educational programs. Frequent night and weekend work is
required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises maintenance and repairs on camp facilities including
plumbing, painting, carpentry, cleaning and electrical duties.
Employs and supervises staff to operate dining facilities.
Responsible for checking groups in and out and maintenance of
records.
Supervises and orients camp counselors and environmental
education specialists.
Maintains liaison with medical doctors in the area.
Responsible for all fiscal matters at the 4-H Center, including
account receivables, account payables and personnel records.
Responsible for security of camp facilities and camp personnel.
Aids in the evaluation of camp programs and personnel.
Provides on-site assistance to user groups to ensure conference
services are provided at an optimal level.
Assists in planning and coordinating workshops and programs for
user groups.
Performs other related work as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's level degree related to agriculture, education,
biological sciences or public administration is required. A
minimum of five years experience related to this class of work;
or any equivalent combination of training and experience is
required. Experience in Extension work or 4-H programs is
preferred. Must have a valid driver's license. Bus Driver's
License is desirable.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Experience in planning and administering adult and/or youth
continuing education programs highly desirable.
Ability to make administrative decisions requiring
interpretation of operations policies and procedures relating to
public use of a 4- H conference facility.
Proficiency in effective written and spoken communications.
Knowledge of mechanical, carpentry, building construction and
electrical skills-
Knowledge of menu planning and food services.
Ability to hire, train, and supervise other employees-
Ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with adults, youth and the general public.
Ability to maintain financial records and develop reports.
