SUMMARY

This is responsible supervisory alumni and development work in the University solicitation program and the promotion of information to a University public.

An employee allocated to this class of work is responsible for supervising a complete phase of alumni development activities such as the parents fund, telephone campaign, alumni meetings, and other related program areas. Work is performed under general supervision of an administrative superior and is reviewed through the observation of results.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises a complete phase of alumni development activities such as the parents fund, the telephone campaign, alumni meetings, an honor giving group or other program areas.

Schedules, plans, and coordinates a series of on and off campus alumni meetings.

Supervises arrangements for the use of University facilities.

Develops material for alumni or development meetings.

Counsels University officials with regard to the alumni development programs.

Performs related work as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in an appropriate curriculum and considerable experience in public relations, alumni relations or development work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of alumni development programs.

Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of public relations work.

Considerable knowledge of the techniques of printing and publishing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with alumni and administrative staff.

Ability to communicate ideas and programs both orally and in writing before different publics.
