SUMMARY

This is responsible administrative and supervisory work in retail food service.
Work involves assisting the Catering Manager in the marketing, and planning of catered events in food service. Activities and decisions are varied in nature, requiring independent action and judgment in solving common problems. Unusual cases or questionable matters are resolved with this position's supervisor or other appropriate positions. Develop ideas that will have a positive effect on existing procedures, methods, services, and programs. Work is performed under the general direction of the Catering Manager and is evaluated through observation of results and customer reaction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans and executes parties and special events.

Implements and evaluates office plans, procedures, and processes to improve catering services.

Supervises students and staff.

Ensures compliance with safety/health regulations.

Schedules/assigns work.

Sets job expectations.

Provides training, coaching/counseling related to performing catering duties.

Participates in completing performance evaluation, determining salary.

Participates in directing/coordinating activities.

Works with other area in catering to ensure all catering duties are on schedule.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Technical diploma or Associate's Degree, or 2 years college courses including
3 years related work experience. Driver's license required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions.

Must be able to operate lift trucks and vans.

Must be able to operate and code warming equipment.

Must be able to search for data or information in computer files, generate standard reports developed by others, input or edit information, and/or enter data into spreadsheets or programs developed by others, and design and/or program spreadsheets or custom reports.

Must be able to use standard office equipment.
