This position is responsible for providing general client Information Technology support. Personnel in this position diagnose and resolve issues pertaining to standalone or interconnected systems hardware, software, peripherals, and network devices used by UGA personnel to perform assigned work duties. This position directly addresses technical issues at the local level and acts as a technical liaison for resolving broader issues. Both technical and interpersonal skills are essential.
The work of an Information Technology Professional will vary according to the nature of the employing organization and the level of responsibility associated with the position posting. The person in this position may be an IT generalist or an employee with multiple technical specialties such as
systems administration, web development, network administration, etc.


Diagnose and resolve issues related to personal computer hardware, operating system, application software, software utilities, data communications / connectivity devices, hand held devices, and other
related peripherals.

Assist clients with operational and project based questions related to the integration or use of Information Technology devices or processes.

Assist clients with questions regarding their interaction with established organizational Information Technology interfaces, processes, practices.

Provide consultation and guidance to clients regarding the procurement of Information Technology goods and services to address local and organizational business needs.

Assist organization with standards development and best practices.

Researches emerging technologies and recommends hardware / software products that may help improve efficiency and effectiveness of technology for client

Create documentation and provide point-of-use training to client

Performs other related duties as assigned
