Production Assistant Duties
SUMMARY
This is manual, technical, and supervisory work in directing
workers in a variety of laboring tasks. An employee allocated to
this class of work is responsible for supervising or leading the
work of others, in setting up for concerts, stage shows, and
other events. Assignments are made in the form of written or
oral instructions and may be accompanied by sketches, etc.
Actions and decisions are varied in nature, requiring
independent action and judgment in solving common problems.
Unusual cases or questionable matters are resolved with
position's supervisor or other appropriate positions. Work is
subject to review by a professional staff member and by
observation of results.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists the Technical Director and Stage Manager with
implementing production needs.
Manages and directs onstage and backstage activity in the
absence of the Technical Director and Stage Manager.
Sets-up, operates, and maintains lighting, sound, and other
equipment for events.
Transports, loads, and unloads equipment.
Trains, supervises, and schedules technical crew.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Some experience in setting up for concerts, stage shows, and
other events.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of tasks necessary to implement stage productions.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work well with other employees and supervise the work
