Graphics Designer Duties
SUMMARY
This position assists the Senior Graphics Designer with the
production of all original and computer-generated graphics
projects including brochures, advertisements, posters,
presentations, maps and report covers for print and
multi-media applications. Incumbents in this classification
are required to work independently within established
guidelines and standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Creates and designs graphics for layout of posters, slides,
newsletter, brochures, booklets, flyers and logos as needed;
Performs required preparatory work such as layout and
paste-up in order to prepare camera-ready artwork for
production;
Creates and designs technical drawings and illustations;
Maintains department/unit files of completed assignments;
Maintains accurate logs of work in progress such as time
devoted to project and materials used.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree with major coursework in graphics design
or related field plus two years experience OR six years
relevant experience either in-house or with an agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and skill in graphic design and layout;
Knowledge of computer generated graphics programs,
typography, typesetting, and lettering equipment;
Ability to communication effectively.
