A person in the position of Assistant Gift Shop Manager would assist the manager of the gift shop in the daily operation of the gift shop. This includes learning the inventory control system and methods used in ordering and processing inventories. This person would be in charge of the gift shop and responsible for its operation in the absence of the manager and will work closely with the manager to keep all files up-to-date and accurate as well as assist in the promotion of the gift shop.


Meet, greet, and assist the public in selecting gifts and other merchandise.

Help train and supervise student staff in service to the public.

Assist the manager in ordering, stocking, and displaying merchandise.

Willingness to learn all aspects of managing the gift shop including understanding all of the paperwork involved in operating the gift shop.

Responsible for making sure all daily paperwork is in order and prior days deposits were correct.


Graduation from High School (or GED equivalent) with at least three (3) years of experience working in a retail environment, including supervision of others.

Georgia Driver's License required.

Must have good organizational skills.

Must be able to handle large sums of money accurately and be accountable for gift shop in manager's absence.

Must be able to make decisions and take charge in manager's absence.

Must be able to operate a cash register and adding machine.

Must have excellent customer service skills.

General knowledge of windows based system.

Experience working on a computerized inventory control system.
