International Faculty&Staff Advisor Duties
SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to serve as an immigration
specialist providing a full range of moderately complex
assignments to provide a full range of visa processing and
immigration services to foreign professors, researchers and
professionals and their dependents while employed at The
University of Georgia.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position performs a full range of tasks associated with
case analysis and development for an assigned area of
immigration petition services. For this position the assigned
immigration petition services cover H, TN and O cases. Duties
associated with these positions are:
Establishing and maintaining documentation and public inspection
files as per USCIS and DOL regulations
Working with Human Resources in the processing of prevailing
wage requests as required by USCIS and DOL regulations
Create and oversee public posting of the Labor Condition
Application as required by DOL guidelines.
Prepare H, TN and O petitions using USCIS governmental forms and
following all USCIS guidelines and regulations.
Tracking of all petitions files via USCIS and department
tracking systems
Create, implement and maintain a department tracking system
Reviews and analyzes documentation submitted by all departments
of The University of Georgia for compliance with all United
States Citizenship and Immigration Services, Federal and State
Department of Labor and Department of State laws, regulations
and policies. As well as ensuring compliance with all UGA
departmental and employment policies and procedures.
Provides advice on immigration policy, procedures and
regulations of relevance to all UGA Faculty, Staff and
Administration.
Participates in and conducts educational orientations,
presentations and workshops on immigration issues.
Helps to supervise Graduate Student Assistant.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
3 years of progressive experience with immigration and visa
related functions for F, J, H, TN and O visa categories in an
academic setting
Master's degree in an appropriate field of study such as Higher
Administration or Law
Excellent analytical, communication and writing skills
Good computer skills using PC platform and Windows, Microsoft
Office Software. |
