Logistical Support Manager Duties
SUMMARY
This is responsible supervisory and administrative work involved
in providing logistical support for a university school, college
or major unit.
An employee in this class is responsible for the supervision and
operation of logistical activities in supply, central
duplicating, mail processing, physical plant maintenance and
other related support functions. Work is performed independently
within established guidelines and is under the general direction
of an administrative superior.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises employees engaged in logistical support activities of
a university school, college or major unit.
Establishes priorities for use of duplicating equipment and
inspects work in progress and finished materials.
Supervises the operation and maintenance of all duplicating
equipment.
Maintains logistical records to include cost reports, inventory
records, reproduction times and other logistical control
records.
Responsible for the receipt, storage, disposal, issue and
accountability of a variety of machines, equipment and
furniture.
Operates a centralized mail room facility for university school,
college or major unit.
Responsible for logistical support for physical facility
problems; coordinates movement of equipment and supplies,
arranges for repair of equipment and supplies; inspects
facilities, etc.
Performs related work as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited college or university with
considerable experience related to this class of work; including
some supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of
training and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of supply and
inventory maintenance.
Thorough knowledge of central duplicating machinery and
procedures.
Thorough knowledge of the nomenclature and types of property
handled in a university school, college or major unit.
Ability to maintain clerical records.
Ability to plan and supervise the work of others.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with
administrative, faculty personnel, employees and the general
