Maintenance Worker Duties
SUMMARY
This is semi-skilled manual work of more than ordinary
difficulty.
Work requires the performance of a wide variety of miscellaneous
mechanical and building trade tasks in the maintenance and
repair of buildings and equipment and in simple construction and
fabrication tasks. Although the work frequently requires the use
of journeymen's tools for operation in several of the recognized
craft fields, the skill required in any one field is almost
always less than would be required of a journeyman. Work is
often performed without close supervision, sometimes by small
crews of maintenance men, but is subject to inspection upon
completion. Incumbent may discover his/her assignments by
inspection. Supervision may be exercised over a small group of
laborers.
