Sample Resume Reference
Actually,
most job applicants do not think of adding this section. If you
prefer, however, feel free to include it as long as you have
sufficient room to do so. More than often, it is popular to
write "References available upon request".

References Header
- The heading for a reference page is generally centered at
the top of the page.
- The header of your reference page should correlate with the
header of your resume – if your name is centered on your resume,
you will want to follow that style on the Reference page, as
well. The best professional look will be to keep your format
style consistent with your resume and reference page.
- You can include just your name followed by the word
references (as in the previous example) OR include the entirety
of the header from your resume.
References Information
- Be sure to provide up to date, accurate contact
information. The following information should be included
for each reference:o Name of reference
o Title
o Organization
o Address
o Phone
o Email
References Relationship
- Include the relationship parenthetically, if it is
not obvious from the resume.
- For example, if a supervisor from a former job is
now working for a different employer, you need to
provide the current information in order for the
prospective employer to make contact - however, the
prospective employer may not understand the significance
of the reference, so make it clear the relationship to
your work history
